Trash Collected

19,3 Kilo

The islands offer a wide variety of beautiful cliffs and underwater caves to explore. This trail was planned in the natural park of Comino Island where Watch The Sea was collaborating with ERA to get permission to organize a trash collection trail. The collected data was shared in our first trash report (also to find on ReMed Zéro Plastique).

This one week trail brought us to the islands of Malte, Comino and Gozo. With permission to access Comino island also on land during the night, we were able to explore its beautiful coast. Encountered trash was attached to our bags, brought to land and later identified for the ERA – Environment and Resources Authority.

Stunning location on Gozo island where we bivouacked right in front of this exceptional island, which at night was visited by hundreds and thousands of seabirds whose voices we recorded. The water temperature  seemed with 15 °C unusually low for this time of the year.
